Kim Dotcom’s new file sharing site, Mega, is due to go live this weekend; almost on the anniversary of his arrest and MegaUpload was shut down.
As the live date nears, Dotcom is revealing juicy titbits to his twitter followers. For starters, Dotcom shared Mega will give all users 50GB of free cloud storage. Already it’s a much more compelling offering when compared to the 2GB and 7GB free allowances offered by Dropbox and SkyDrive respectively.

Perhaps Dotcom is trying to appease users worried Mega will be shut down like its predecessor?
In a bid to avoid the authorities ransacking Mega, Dotcom revealed he has focussed his energies on delivering a similar service while circumventing US laws.
“The new Mega avoids any dealings with US hosters, US domains and US backbone providers and has changed the way it operates to avoid another takedown,” Dotcom said to Reuters in November.
Dotcom is also working on restoring premium statuses to loyal MegaUpload users, but that plight is entangled in his litigation woes.
