Dyson Slams Vacuum Patent Lawsuit On LG

Apple isn’t the only company taking patent jabs at its Korean rivals. Bagless vacuum-maker Dyson Ltd. is taking LG Electronics to court for patent infringing that it says has been damaging its business.
Dyson is looking to protect its signature bagless vacuum cleaner from the competition by suing the Korean appliance maker which it accuses of infringing its vacuum cleaner collection chamber patent.

Dyson has claimed that its business has been deliberately damaged by at least four LG vacuums that it alleges infringe its patent, and is now asking a US District Court to bar continued infringement, according to Bloomberg.

It is also looking for monetary damages in the form of ‘a reasonable royalty’, punitive damages and for LG to foot its legal bill.

The case follows a similar patent infringement suit launched by Dyson against Samsung, also over vacuum cleaner technology.
