After an Australian blogger identified a Facebook privacy breach, the social networking giant has committed to fixing it within 24 hours.

In an interview with The Australian, security consultant and blogger Nik Curilovic said that Facebook’s engineers have promised to revise its browser cookies, not collecting user data when they log out.
The US based Facebook engineers contacted Cubrilovic via phone, and had a forty minute conference call with him this afternoon.
On his blog Curilovic sparked a privacy debate after revealing Facebook continued to collect user information, even after they logged out.
The social network was able to collect user information through browser cookies. Instead of deleting or deactivating the cookies, they continued to compile user information, which was then sent to Facebook’s server.
“They’re sending the information to their servers, even when [users] are logged out,” Curilovic said.
“It’s a question of what they do with it. They may not do with it now, but in two years’ time, they might introduce a new feature that accesses it”
He also confirmed Facebook will be addressing three other cookie-related issues.
“They aim to fix [the issue] by tomorrow.
“There will still be cookies, but they won’t be identifiable.
“We can only take them at their word.
