By visiting the Eset Online Scanner website, users can scan and clean their systems, hard disks, compressed files and email without having to uninstall their existing antivirus solution, the company says. Rather than being a replacement on an existing antivirus solution, the Eset scanner is designed to be “second opinion” on the health status of a PC.
The company also says that its main competitor in the field – the solution offered by Trends – is not as fast as the Eset tool which has a scan rate of 450mb/min. Plus, unlike other online scanners, this tool not only detects both known and unknown forms of malware, including viruses, worms, Trojans, phishing and spyware, it also cleans the system and allows the end-user to troubleshoot and repair many malware-related problems, according to Eset.
