FujiFilm has used CES to introduce the X-Pro1 a new interchangeable lens digital camera system.
The camera’s biggest feature is an APS-C sensor, but unlike the X100 and X10, Fujifilm’s new flagship includes an interchangeable lens mount. The camera can capture 16 megapixel stills, and will be compatible with three lenses at launch: an XF 18mm (27mm equivalent) f/2.0, 35mm (53mm equivalent) f/1.4 lens and a larger 60mm (90mm equivalent) f/2.4 macro lens. Pricing and launch date for Australia hasn’t been announced.

With a brand new, custom developed 16MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor, incorporating a newly developed filter array and Fujifilm’s proprietary EXR Processor technology, the -Pro1 is poised to deliver enhanced image quality that will rival currently available mid and high-end DSLR models FujiFilm claims.
“Fujifilm puts great emphasis on producing outstanding image quality, and with the X-Pro1, we are proud to offer an interchangeable lens system that performs to the highest professional caliber,” said Go Miyazaki, division president, Imaging and Electronic Imaging Divisions, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “Each element is the product of Fujfiilm’s commitment to uncompromising quality. With its custom APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensorTM, unique Hybrid Multi Viewfinder and three interchangeable lenses, the X-Pro1 is poised to become the new standard for photographers.”
