Fujitsu Toshiba Takes A Bite Of The Microsoft Mango Before Nokia

Fujitsu-Toshiba will be the first phone maker to the mark to ship a Windows Phone device with the new Mango update straight out of the box with Nokia still operating on Symbian.
UPDATE: Digitimes sources indiciate that a long list of mobile vendors including Samsung, LG, Acer and HTC are all set to launch their own Mango-run handsets in September.

The announcement of the 1GHz ‘IS12T’ comes only a day after Microsoft shipped its Windows Phone Mango SDK for developers.

The 1GHz Qualcomm processor-run, 3.7-inch touchscreen phone comes with a 13.2 megapixel camera, 32GB storage, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity.

It’s also got a bit of a rugged edge with waterproof and dustproofing, but most notably it runs the latest version of Windows Phone that will become Nokia’s primary operating system.

The announcement was made in Japan by Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications, where the company is set to release the phone some time from September. The price is yet to be announced.

The new Windows Phone version comes with a host of updates including a smartphone version of Internet Explorer 9, HTML5 and multitasking support and integration with Microsoft’s cloud-based services.
