Galaxy Note 5 And S6 edge+ Arriving In Oz Soon: Local Pricing Revealed

Local pricing and availability for Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphones has been confirmed by Samsung, with pre-orders kicking off today.Pre-orders for the Note 5 and S6 edge+ are now available, with the handsets expected to arrive in-store from September 4.

The Note 5, which will be available in black sapphire and gold platinum, will be available in a 32 GB model priced at $1,099 RRP, with the S6 edge+, available in black sapphire and white pearl, to be available in 32 GB and 64 GB models, priced at $1,199 RRP and $1,299 RRP, respectively.

Prasad Gokhale, Samsung Electronics Australia vice president – IT & Mobile, described the Note 5 and S6 edge+ as combining “power, performance and beautiful design”.

“We believe these devices represent the next generation of smartphones and a pivotal step for Samsung’s mobile industry,” Gokhale commented.

The Note 5 and S6 edge+ both fall into the phablet category, with both smartphones sporting a 5.7″ quad-HD Super AMOLED display, with the S6 edge+ also featuring a dual-edge screen, while the Note 5 comes with an S Pen stylus.

Both are equipped with an octa-core (2.1 GHz quad + 1.5 GHz quad) 64-bit processor, and sport a rear 16 MP camera and front 5 MP camera.

The Note 5 and S6 edge+, which both run Android 5.1 Lollipop, are category 9 smartphones, providing for faster mobile download speeds.

Of the telcos set to offer the Note 5 and S6 edge+, Optus has been quick off the mark today, confirming pricing and availability.

Online pre-orders with Optus have also commenced this afternoon, with in-store pre-orders commencing from tomorrow.

Both the Note 5 and S6 edge+ will be available on a range of Optus plans, beginning with a $65 per month plan for the Note 5 and a $70 per month plan for the S6 edge+.

Optus states that for both smartphones, it aims to deliver to customers in metropolitan areas who pre-order by September 2 from September 4 and customers in regional areas from September 7.
