Going Mobile: Epson Introduces WorkForce WF-100

Epson has launched what it bills the “world’s smallest and lightest mobile printer”, the WorkForce WF-100, designed for professionals on the go, in the Australian market. The WF-100 weighs in at 1.6 kg and measures 309 x 154 x 61 mm.

It includes built-in wireless connectivity and Wi-Fi Direct, with users able to print from a range of devices, including tablets, smartphones and laptops (connecting to up to four devices at once), an integrated battery that charges via USB or an included AC adapter, and an automatic power-off feature to save battery life.

In addition to using the Epson Connect cloud print and scan service, the WF-100 also supports Android, iPad and iPhone, Chromebook, Kindle Fire, Mac and Windows devices.

The WF-100 has been specifically designed “to print and display lab-quality borderless photos” up to 4 x 6″ and “intricate documents with crisp, sharp text” with speeds of up to 7.0 ISO ppm (black) and 4.0 ISO ppm (colour), Epson states.

It additionally features a bright 1.4″ colour LCD screen and a control panel designed for simple setup and operation, and uses durable, quick-dry inks for fade and water-resistant prints

“The Workforce WF-100 boosts the mobile experience, supporting users to stay productive while on the go,” commented Bruce Bealby, Epson Australia general manager sales & marketing – consumer division.

“It is designed for users who demand high document and photo output for business printing and projects, while highlighting our commitment to delivering tools that meet the ever-evolving mobile workforce.”

The WF-100, which in Australia will carry a price tag of $399 RRP and which is available through official Epson resellers, comes out as the smallest printer in its class based on mobile colour inkjet printers priced at US$399 or less in the US market as of April this year, Epson states.
