The research by Grey and Sweeney  which was conducted among 1500 people online  in August, revealed that 70% of corporations are money hungry and too focused on profits.

Twenty percent highlighted banks or telcos as organisations they no longer trust, according to the survey.

Meanwhile, 54% of Australians surveyed could think of an organisation or brand they no longer trust, although 59% placed more trust in Australian companies than overseas corporations.

Sweeney Research CEO Marc L’Huillier said that among all brands, charities retain the highest levels of consumer trust.

“The Salvation Army is the most trusted brand in the country, followed by Google, Australia Post and Medicare. By business sector, airlines are the most trusted, outranking food manufacturers, sporting bodies and supermarket chains.”
