Harvey Norman Claims Panasonic Cutting Back On TV Range In OZ

Is Panasonic Australia cutting back dramatically on their TV range? According to Harvey Norman they are.Last week at a Harvey Norman store in Sydney I was told that the Harvey Norman Group were close to ranging new LG and Samsung Smart TVs. During the conversation the sales executive said that the group was cutting back on their Panasonic range in 2012.

Then late this week a message appeared on Whirlpool from a member of the public called Rufus55 who said “I went into my Local Harvey Norman today to see if I could find out any info on Panasonics release dates for their 2012 plasma models here in Australia, the home entertainment rep told me that Panasonic were having a small presence in tvs in Australia this year and that there would only be 2 or 3 models released here, has anyone heard anything any info about this? would be real dissappointing if this is the case, had my heart set on either a GT or VT display when they were released here”.

According to Panasonic the Company is set to launch a new  “home entertainment” range next Wednesday in Sydney. It is not known whether their new TV which I saw at the recent CES Show in Las Vegas will be launched on this date.

For those who want high quality plasma Panasonic still has one of the best ranges in the world. The new CES models were more stylish and slimline than past models.
