HP Rolls Out Configurable Notebooks

HP has launched a new line of notebooks that can be configured according to how a user wants it.

According to the company, the Mini 110 is available in a variety of configurations to accommodate a large 160GB hard drive, solid state drive, Windows XP or Linux operating system.

Available in a choice of Pink Chic, Black Swirl or White Swirl protective HP Imprint finishes, the HP Mini 110 weighs 1.09 kilograms, measures just over one-inch thick, and is small enough to slip into most handbags. It also features a 10.1-inch LED widescreen display, a keyboard that is 92 per cent the size of a standard notebook PC keyboard, and a built-in webcam and microphone. It is powered by Intel’s Atom N280 1.66-gigahertz (GHz) processor.

The new HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment Notebook PC can also be configurable, allowing users to choose between an AMD Turion Neo or AMD Athlon Dual-Core processor. It starts at just one-inch thick, weighs just 1.64 kilograms, and sports an Espresso Black HP Imprint and a strong magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. Also on-board is an ATI Radeon X1250 graphics card and with up to 512MB of dedicated video memory.

HP Australia’s Marketing Development Manager for Consumer Notebooks, Personal System Group Ben Baumgarten said, “The new HP Mini 110 and HP Pavilion dv2 reflect HP’s commitment to offering choice and creating highly mobile and capable devices to suit the demands of today’s market. These new notebooks add to HP’s expanding range of ultra-mobile notebook PCs, allowing people to perform daily computing tasks on-the-go.”

The HP Mini 110 Series Notebook PC is available now in the following configurations:

  • The HP Mini 110 with Linux and a 16GB solid state drive is available now in Black Swirl for a retail price of $499.
  • The HP Mini 110 with Windows XP and a 160GB hard drive is available now in Black Swirl for a retail price of $699. Pink Chic and White Swirl editions of this model will be available in late July.

The HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment Notebook PC is available now in the following configurations:

  • The HP Pavilion dv2-1112AU features an AMD Athlon Neo Processor and 160GB hard drive for a retail price of $999.
  • The HP Pavilion dv2-1132AX comes with an AMD Athlon Neo X2 Dual-Core Processor and 250GB hard drive for a retail price of $1,299.
  • The HP Pavilion dv2-1133AX features an AMD Turion Neo X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor and 500GB hard drive for a retail price of $1,499.
