HTC has given Australia the two finger salute by launching their new HTC Android Sensation Smartphone in both India and New Zealand ahead of Australia, despite OZ being one of the best performing markets in the world for the Taiwanese company.Europe and the USA already have the Sensation, which is seen as the main competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S.
HTC management in Australia are refusing to explain why Australia is being put last in the queue of countries where the Sensation is being launched.
A PR executive for HTC Australia said that the HTC Sensation “will be launched with Telecom New Zealand next week and that at this stage there were no plans to launch the new phone in Australia”.
This year HTC Australia and New Zealand appear to have adopted a policy of launching old model phones in Australia as opposed to the latest HTC offering with the company trying to blame carriers for the lack of current model phones.
Earlier this year HTC launched the old model HD7, WP7 Smartphone, when the rest of the world was getting the HD7 Pro with a new LED screen.
HTC management have said that they will launch the Sensation in Australia, but when, remains a mystery.
