A new HTC HD 7 Smartphone that runs the new Windows Phone 7 OS has been released by the Taiwanese phone maker. The device goes on sale next month at Telstra and Vodafone.
The HD7 has a 4.3-inch display with 800×480 resolution and like the HTC Desire the build quality is excellent, with several observers claiming that “it’s as good as you get in a mobile phone”.
The device comes with a gunmetal band around the edge and brushed metal surrounding the camera components. A metal plate can be removed revealing a microphone and camera.

Powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU the phone easily allows users to access content on a WP7 device. However we were unable to test how it handles power hungry applications such as the navigation package Co Pilot because the Microsoft OS only has access to a handful of applications when compared to what other HTC Android devices have access to.
That camera has a 5-megapixel sensor, as well as a dual LED flash which comes in handy when shooting 720p video.
Apart from the normal Telstra network connectivity, the phone has Wi Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. Sound has been improved through the use of Dolby mobile and SRS surround sound.
The devices which replaces the short lived HTC HD 2 appears to have the same battery structure as the HD2 which means it could suck power which was the only let down for the HTC predecessor.
