HTC One (M9) Could Feature A QHD Display

Official details of HTC’s follow up to its flagship HTC One (M8) smartphone have yet to be confirmed, yet there are a number of rumours already circulating online about its potential specs and release date.Going on recent history, it would appear a safe bet to pencil in a release date for the HTC One (M9) (should it be called the M9) for some time around March next year, perhaps after the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which will run March 2-5.

This year, HTC unveiled the HTC One (M8) at the end of March, after the congress, while its predecessor, the HTC One (M7), was launced in February 2013.

Should this occur, the M9 could well be available in markets around the world around the same time as the expected release of Samsung’s Galaxy S6 (the S5 was
released in April this year).

Meanwhile, a number of rumours have emerged about HTC’s next-gen flagship’s specs.

Trusted Reviews has reported the M9 could join the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 in sporting a QHD display, could be powered by a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

As for screen size, a number of rumours have surfaced, with Trusted Reviews reporting it is widely believed a 5.2″ display will be adopted.

This would put the M9 at the smaller end of the phablet scalet, but will also be an increase in size from the 5″ M8 display and 4.7″ M7.

Among HTC’s competitors, the Note 4 measures in at 5.7″, while Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus sports a 5.5″ display.

Trusted Reviews has reported the M9 is tipped to feature a 16 MP OIS-enhanced rear camera, with dual stereo speakers up front also likely, while leaks have suggested the M9 will run on a 3500 mAh Lithium Ion battery.
