Incredible Space Station Passing Moon Shot Captured With Bog Standard Nikon DSLR

A digital camera photographer has used a bog standard Nikon D3S to shoot an incredible picture of the International Space Station passing the moon.

Despite being 386 kilometres away from the moon the quality of the Nikon camera and lense system proved an advantage, it also  proved that you don’t need specialist equipment to see the Station.

The picture was taken as it passed above Houston in the USA.

Nasa officals say that in the right conditions, the orbiting lab can even be seen with the naked eye even from Australia.

The cameraman used a 600mm lens and 2x converter, Heavy Duty Bogen Tripod with sandbag and a trigger cable to minimize camera shake.
