The app already has 27 million registered users who use it on their Apple iPhones and iPads.
The free application allows people to edit their photos with tools, such as applying a tint to images or have their shots framed by the Polaroid’s white border. Images can be shared to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr accounts according to the company’s website description:
“Snap a picture, choose a filter to transform its look and feel, then post to Instagram. Share to Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr too – it’s as easy as pie. It’s photo sharing, reinvented.”
As more people turn to their smartphone cameras, photo editing applications are becoming more popular.
The Android application will have the same look and feel found on iOS devices.
