International Dynamics Responds To Losses

In a formal press released issued to ChannelNews and SmartHouse International Dynamics have responded to our exclusive story re the restructure of their business saying that will be refocussing their activities following changes to their distribution arrangements in relation to Klipsch Synergy, InFocus and Loewe.

Klipsch will soon deal with Harvey Norman direct with both Synergy and Icon. International Dynamics will continue with Reference. Loewe and International Dynamics will part company despite their successful past and InFocus have appointed an additional agent for Play Big projectors. Company Chairman Alex Encel sees all three events as opportunities. “Our resources were severely stretched in growing Harvey Norman Synergy sales tenfold in recent times.

This put us as one of their three best markets in the world, winning International Distributor of the Year and having the best per capita sales in the world but it came at a cost internally. We therefore think Klipsch going direct should be of benefit to all parties. It will also allow us to focus our efforts more on the Klipsch Reference Range and our other audio products. Broadly speaking, our heritage is the specialist dealer network and we also see this as our future. We found we could not realistically graft Harvey Norman on top of that workload. “

“The Loewe story is not so different as logically we risked a similar fate with Loewe as what occurred with Synergy. Once we built the brand via David Jones to a certain level, it could ultimately be advantageous for Loewe to go direct as they have done in European markets for Loewe like Belgium, France, Italy, Austria and the UK, previously already successful via agents. We believe Loewe could succeed handsomely in the up-market department store environment.”

“Having InFocus appoint an additional agent for the Play Big Series should come as no surprise. Sales of InFocus projectors had slowed considerably in recent times due to changes in technology.  Whatever sales increase occurs via the specialist network as a result of this move remains to be seen but it reduces the expectation on us. We cannot realistically service additional channels”
