ADSL2+ doubled: Internode doubles its ADSL2+ services to an extra 240 telephone exchanges in Oz.

And it’s all thanks to Perth based iiNet, who snapped up rival Internode for $105 million last year.
Internode will be busy today expanding its popular ADSL2+ Easy Broadband coverage to include telephone exchanges that contain iiNet DSLAM equipment.
This equipment is identical to existing Internode DSLAMs, and will deliver the same features and performance to Easy Broadband customers.
This move will more than doubles the number of exchanges that can deliver the Internode service from 208 to 450. Easy Broadband starts at $59 when bundled with phones or $49 standalone.
Around 15,000 Internode customers (on Easy Reach plans connected to Telstra DSLAM ports) whose service can access these extra DSLAMs will be automatically migrated to the new equipment over the next three months, free of charge.
Once migrated, customers can choose any Easy Broadband plan using the Internode online plan changer.
This expansion area includes iiNet’s home state of WA, and select suburbs in NSW, Sydney, including Bondi, Campbeltown and Botany, Vic (Glen Iris, Geelong, Hawthorn), Canberra and Brisbane.
The expanded coverage will be available for new signups by close of business today, say the ISP.
“This delivers a massive coverage expansion of Easy Broadband ADSL2+ services for all new customers by making our flagship broadband plus dial-tone voice service available from an extra 240 exchanges,” said Internode managing director Simon Hackett.
“We’re also continuing to work on delivering our dialtone-free Easy Naked services through the new exchanges, with availability expected in the next few months.”
