Pink to make the boys wink: Samsung is going all out with Galaxy, looking to sex up S II up with a pink version. And it is also adding Lions to Tab 10.1.
Launched in its native South Korea yesterday, Samsung is looking to increase the appeal of the 4.3″ Android top-selling smartphone with 1.2GHz dual core processor to chicks.
Previously, Galaxy S II was only available in bog standard black and white hues.
But the timing of the Pink and Lions Galaxy editions release is what’s really interesting, since Apple’s iPhone 4S is due for release in South Korea today, so its rival was clearly looking to steal some of the glory surrounding the release of the cult update to the iPhone 4.

But that’s not all – Sammy is also spicing up the Galaxy Tab 10.1 by adding lions design to the flagship Tab 10.1 (currently banned in Australia) to commemorate the victory of Samsung Lions Baseball Team in Korean Series Championship, reports Asia Droid.
However, these are limited editions (just 150 Tab 10.1) and confined to South Korea only, unfortunately.
Apple and Samsung are currently embroiled in a bitter legal dispute here in Australia with the South Korean’s looking to ban sale of iPhone 4S here, claiming it infringes mobile 3G patents, which is back before the Federal Court in Sydney today.

The iPhone 4S is in its third release globally and is being unleashed to 13 more countries including New Zealand, Hong Kong and Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro, from today.
And good news for iPhone fans – Apple also released update to iOS 5 yesterday, which promises a cure to battery issues on iPhone 4S as well as an update to Siri for Aussie users.
