JB-Hi Nabs Network Neighbourhood

Electronics retailer has bought 51% of Network Neighbourhood.

Melbourne based Network Neighborhood (NN) offers technical service in education, corporate and government sectors including Project and Infrastructure, ICT planning for schools, warranty lifecycle services and IT products.

The deal means the high street retailer can now further develop its expanding enterprise offering, which has grown massively in the past 12 months.

NN deals with brands such as Lenovo, Apple, Belkin, HP and Microsoft, also has an online product portal for education clients to choose technologies and submit orders.

“Our commercial clients are demanding integrated end-to-end solutions,” said JB Hi-Fi CFO Richard Murray.

“The combination of JB’s buying power and NN’s leading service offering will enable the group to provide our clients with complete networking and IT solutions.”

Hugh Marquis founded NN in 1999 and has won several awards from vendors including IBM and Lenovo Partner of the year.

No word on how much JB piad for the 51% stake in the IT services company which has three offices including two in Melbourne and another in Brisbane.

JB HI shares rose 1.13% to $12.5 today.
