Klipsch Activates New Active SoundBar

Global speaker and headphone manufacturer Klipsch has launched its first active soundbar under the recently revamped Reference label, they claim it delivers a new level of value and performance.

Following Klipsch’s decision to rebrand much of its product range under the Reference label, Klipsch has launched its first new active Reference soundbar, the R10-B.
Klipsch CEO Paul Jacobs said that “The R-10B establishes a new level of performance and value consumers can expect from our products as the first soundbar under our new Reference unity strategy”.
Bathed in satin black, a perforated metal grille, and brushed black vinyl subwoofer, with copper branding logo, Klipsch boast that its soundbar is far more than “just a larger and louder version of the diminutive TV speakers it is replacing”, but instead a speaker that increases “sonic details, especially in the midrange frequency area and above, in order to significantly improve dialogue clarity that is extremely lacking with most of today’s flat panel TV’s”.
Klipsch also talks up its 68+ year speaker heritage and the “horn-loading” technology in its “true 2-way soundbar”, with two three quarter inch “horn loaded textile dome tweets with 90 degree x 90 degree Tractrix horns” that deliver “crisp highs”, and two 3-inch “polypropylene woofers” to “round out the enhanced sound with crisp vocals and dynamic soundtracks.”
Featuring 250W of peak power output with 27Hz to 20kHz frequency response, the R-10B has 2.4GHz wireless connectivity for automatic pairing between the soundbar and the wireless subwoofer, which itself has an 8-inch side-firing driver and solid MDF cabinet with “slot-port design for deep, powerful bass”.
Other specs include Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with smartphones, tablets, computers and other devices, with aptX audio coding for lossless, high-quality music streaming, as well as a Dolby Digital decoder, 3D simulated surround sound mode and both optical and dual RCA analog inputs.
An remote control is included, as are removable feet to set the R-10B in front of your television, along with keyhole mounts for those who want to mount the soundbar to the wall.
R-10B soundbar dimensions are 1015.8mm W x 71mm D x 105.1mm H and a weight of 3.2kg, with the subwoofer measuring 210mm x 406.4 x 336.4mm and weighing 11.4kg.

The Klipsch Reference R-10B will be available for AUD $1099 in Australia, and will soon be joined by the Klipsch Reference R-20, which will retail for AU $1399 upon release.
