The analyst company’s “LCD TV Market Review” says the growthis all about the “availability of more screen sizes with less emphasis on 1080p models”.

Global sales for the LCD TV market has exceeded $US5.5 billion in Q2 compared to $US4.9 billion in Q1, according to the report and sales of small and mid-sized LCDs increased 30 per cent for 720p models, while sales of 1080p models were up by some 33 per cent.

Quixel also noted that the LCD TV market posted a 45 percent year-to-year revenue increase and a recent DisplaySearch Study showed that LCD panel shipments grew 6 per cent in the last quarter of this year.
