LG Pulls The Plug On Their 3D TV

As Sony, Samsung and Panasonic brag about their 3D offering LG Australia has been remarkably quiet with rumours now surfacing that the company is struggling to deliver 3D technology despite showing off new 3D models at the recent CES in Las Vegas. In Europe last night it was revealed that LG’s flagship 3D TV, which it showed off at CES has been pulled with retailers told that it will not be launched.

The LG LD360 3D LED TV was touted at CES as a 47-inch LCD TV that had 3D, Skype and Internet TV is now not going to be launched with the Company refusing to say what will replace it.

Some analysts are tipping that LG will move to a 50″ model as their entry level 3D TV offering with small models set to be launched as the market grows.

In Australia LG executives have refused to comment about their offering however Stan Bilinski who has recently taken over as product marketing manager for all of LG Australia’s consumer electronics division said “We are currently conducting an extensive research study and when we have that we will decide on our TV line up”.

At CES LG was promoting the LD 360 as their 3G flagship model “the start of a new wave of TVs and one of the biggest trends in TV in the coming years”.

They said that their new 3D TV would be launched in April 2010.
