LG Group is pushing research and development in its native South Korea amid a government push to boost employment in the region.The conglomerate electronics company is set to hire 4,000 new workers in the second half of this year on top of the 13,000 added workers already hired this year, according to the Korea Times paper.
The majority of the new recruits will consist of existing experts in the field, contributing to areas of the company like research and development. 900 of the workers will be college graduates fresh to the market.
“Research staff members will account for 25 percent or 1,000 of the new workers because it’s critical we strengthen our technological edge in our main and new businesses,” said an LG spokesperson.
