As LG revealed its super-superphone in Korea yesterday, we’re still not sure if it’s coming to OZ.
Announced yesterday, the 4.7″ LG Optimus G has a set of unprecedented specs not seen on an iPhone (although matches up to Samsung S3 on screen quality) including: 13MP camera and in cell touch technology that integrates touch sensors into the LCD display.
This is the first ever mobile device to feature this next gen technology – and is possibly one of the biggest breakthroughs of all Optimus G features – and means a thinner body, screen panel and the display itself is much stronger.

It also has 4G LTE, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU – the first ever smartphone to have this new-gen chip, and runs Android 4.0.
The new 2,100 mAh battery insdide the Optimus G has an extended lifespan to 800 cycles at 80 percent charging capabilities, much greater than the lifespan of 500 cycles in regular phone batteries.
Smarthouse contacted LG Australia today and a spokesperson said the following:
“LG Australia is currently in discussions with local operators regarding the availability of Optimus G in the Australian market and when commercial discussions are finalised we will provide local availability information.”
So, neither a yes or a no, but it is likely LG would release the device here given Aussie market appetite for smarties – especially on Android Ice Cream 4.0.
