LG Ultra HDTV Bag CES “Innovation” Gong

LG get a major nod from CES for its 84 inch Ultra High Definition TV

The Smart TV maker received a massive ten 2013 International CES Innovations Awards, including the “Best of Innovations” honour in the Video Display category for its Ultra HD TV, which will go on sale this month.

The Cinema 3D Smart TV displays four times the level of detail of Full HD resolution (1080p), a massive 8 million pixels, in total.

LG has bagged a massive 10 CES Innovations Awards, in all, including media players, home systems and theatre speakers, its Optimus G 4G smartphone – out in OZ Q1 next year  –  and home appliances were also given a nod by the Consumer Electronics Show 2013, the biggest CE event in the world due to kick off in January.

“Technology innovation and design are the foundation of our company, and we are honoured that CEA has awarded LG the ‘Best of Innovations’ award for the fifth year in a row, recognising our ongoing commitment to bringing the best user experience to market each year,” said Lambro Skropidis, Marketing Manager, LG Australia.

“This year’s host of honoured products, from energy-efficient home appliances to quad-core smartphones and stylish smart electronics, represent a diverse portfolio of products that are designed to improve consumers’ lives.”

In the Home Appliance category, LG’s energy efficient appliances with Smart ThinQ technology, which connect to the Internet, were also given an Innovation Award.

The CES Innovations Awards are selected annually by a panel of prominent industry designers, engineers and journalists who judge product entries on criteria including user value, aesthetics, innovative design, quality and contributions to quality of life.

The awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America.

LG has been honoured with more than 130 CES Innovations Awards since 2004.
