LG Wrist Watch Phone To Be Launched By Telstra

EXCLUSIVE: A senior Telstra executive has confirmed that Telstra is set to soon launch the new LG wrist phone in Australia. The James Bond style phone has been a big hit in Europe after it was first shown at the 2009 CES show in Las Vegas.

David Moffett the CEO of Telstra’s consumer electronics division said that he was “excited” by the new LG Smartphone.

“When I started with Telstra nearly a decade ago mobile phones were like bricks, now we launching phones that you can talk to on your wrist” he said.

Moffett who yesterday announced that he was leaving Telstra said that the new LG phone was an “innovative piece of engineering”.

Due to be launched in October the new LG GD910 Watch Phone is expected to be priced at around $995. It comes with a touch screen, Bluetooth and a camera.

What makes it a standout is the minute engineering that packs so much into such a small space.

The SIM slot is located with the battery at the back of the phone, which has a 1.4″ touch screen that allows users to access a multitude of capabilities.

The exterior cosmetics are also smart, with a leather-like strap, which adjusts through a simple ‘tug to fit’ system. A call button allows users to open up a number of menus, and the hang up button is at the top of the screen for easy access.

Three buttons on the side allow a user to access features with the middle button designed to allow user to navigating back and forth.

The charge holder is on the side of the LG Watch Phone so that users can easily mount it for overnight charging.

A clamp holds the phone in place to a metal plate, which then connects to a USB charger. This also allows users to access content on a PC.

The LG Watch phone is surprisingly functional, light and designed with functionality in mind.

It has a VGA camera, video calling, music player, voice command alongside all standard mobile capabilities (and an interchangeable clock face).

It also includes a Bluetooth headset which allows consumers to talk into the device easily.
