Games publisher Ubisoft has announced that it will be turning popular TV shows Lost, CSI and Heroes into video games for Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 consoles.
The new CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Hard Evidence game will be available on the 360 and Wii platforms for the first time, and will also be available as a PC version.
In a partnership with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group, Ubisoft will also be developing a game based on the drama series Heroes, which chronicles the lives of ordinary people around the world who discover they possess “super powers” of sorts.
“With a gripping storyline and rich characters, Heroes lends itself naturally to a video game fomat,” said Ubisoft’s Christian Salomon. “By offering people the chance to interact directly with the show’s captivating universe, there is no doubt that the game will appeal to both fans of the series and avid gamers.”
And gamers will soon also be able to get themselves Lost in the pacific, with a partnership between Ubisoft and ABC. The Lost video game will be shipping first quarter of 2008 for the Xbox 360, the PS3 and PC-DVD Rom.
“Ubisoft has worked closely with ABC Studios and the show’s producers to create a compelling storyline that has the same mystery, adventure and intensity fans of the show have come to expect from the ‘Lost’ brand,” said Ubisoft’s Helene Juguet.
“The sense of adventure and suspense that we strive for in the show is also captured in the Lost video game,” said ‘Lost’ executive producers, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.
“Ubisoft has done a fantastic job and come up with a game that is visually amazing and imaginative both on its own and as an extension of the world of the show,” they said.
