Denon who were one of the first Hi-Fi companies to integrate networking into their home theatre gear is set to launch a networked tabletop music system as well as an app that lets iPhones, an iPod Touch and an iPad control networked A/V receivers.The N7 music system, which is expected in Australia by Christmas consists of a network capable iPod/iPhone-docking receiver and separate stereo speakers.
The single-chassis CD-receiver, will be available in white, incorporates AM/FM tuner, two-channel amplifier, three-line OLED display with metadata readout, iPod/iPhone dock on top, and built-in Wi-Fi which allows users to stream music wirelessly from a networked PC.
The device is DLNA-certified. The CD-receiver also lets users accesses Internet radio stations and a USB port lets consumers play music from USB-equipped MP3 players.
Via a firmware upgrade, the N7 will also stream music, including Apple-protected music, wirelessly from a user’s iTunes application loaded on a networked PC.
