News Corporation who are under attack over their phone hacking scandal have been forced to take down all their UK web sites with News Ltd in Australia, now undertaking “extreme” security measures in an effort to prevent a hack attack on their sites similar to what has happened in the UK.

The CEO of News Digital Media in Australia, Richard Freudenstein was not available to comment.

In the UK websites for The Tmes, the Sun, BSkyB and News International were all down today will visitors getting a Google message saying that the sites are not accessible.
It is believed News took the decision to pull the plug on its entire UK digital network following the hack attack on The Sun.

Hacking group LulzSec  has taken responsibility for the attack according to a redirect to a Twitter page.

After taking over  the Sun web site the group posted a fake story under the headline “Media moguls body discovered”, with “Lulz” printed at the bottom of the page.

The site displaying the fake story then crashed because of heavy traffic, before The Sun’s website redirected to LulzSec’s Twitter page.
