New Flexible AMOLED Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Coming

Flexible AMOLED display technology could appear for the first time in a commercial product with the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2.According to the Korea IT Times, Samsung will launch the flexible AMOLED technology resulting in the introduction of a much tougher handset less susceptible to shocks and breakage.

The flexible AMOLED technology won’t allow users to bend their devices. Instead, Samsung will slightly bend the screen, and that slight bend — in combination with the unbreakable plane display technology and a plastic substrate — will result in a screen tougher than those typically found on touchscreen smartphones. The technology will also allow Samsung more space to increase the Galaxy Note II’s battery capacity beyond that found in the original Galaxy Note.

Samsung has already confirmed that the company plans to reveal the Galaxy Note II in Berlin on August 29. The device has already shown up on a number of benchmarking sites. Purportedly, the next iteration of Samsung’s phablet will feature a larger screen while maintaining a slightly smaller footprint than the original claims Electronista.
