Garmin has taken the wraps off its wrist-worn vivosmart HR touchscreen activity tracker, featuring heart rate monitoring and smart notifications, due to land in the local market in November. The vivosmart HR sports an always-on, sunlight-readable display, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, tracks steps, calories and distance, counts floors climbed and measures activity intensity, and, when paired with a compatible smartphone, allows users to receive texts, calls, email, calendar and social media alerts.
It reminds users when they’ve been sitting too long, learns their current activity level and creates a customised daily step goal, and users can also manually set floors climbed and activity intensity goals.
It also allows users to control the music on their smartphone and send a signal to help locate their smartphone when it has been misplaced, and can remote control a Garmin VIRB camera (sold separately).
