New MacBook Pros Due From Apple This Month

Apple is only days away from launching a new range of MacBook Pros based in part on Intel’s new Sandy Bridge architecture.

Apple is only days away from launching a new range of MacBook Pros based in part on Intel’s new Sandy Bridge architecture.

The Company, who in the last quarter of 2010 sold 3.89 million notebooks,  is looking to grow their share further despite the risk of iPad’s and other tablets eating into MAC PC market share.

The new computers are expected to house processors based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge architecture, which improves the performance per clock and adds extensions for certain media and vector math calculations. Engadget said that Apple may even use t5he technology on the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

There is also speculation that Apple may move to Intel graphic technology as well.

Other changes may bring AMD Radeon HD 6000M video on the 15- and 17-inch models as well as lessons learned from the MacBook Air, such as more and faster SSD options, hybrid SSD/rotating hard drives and longer battery life in sleep mode. Apple could now also take advantage of less expensive RAM and to upgrade to 750GB or 1TB hard disks.
