New Nikon DL Compact Cameras To Land In Oz In June

Nikon has launched its new Nikon DL compact camera series, comprising three models – the DL18-50mm f/1.8-2.8, DL24-85mm f/1.8-2.8 and DL24-500mm f/2.8-5.6 – each decked out with different Nikkor lens groups. The DL18-50mm f/1.8-2.8 sports a 18-50 mm ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, which Nikkon states is equipped with Nikkor’s fastest and brightest maximum aperture, while the DL24-85mm f/1.8-2.8 features a 24-85mm normal zoom lens, and the DL24-500mm f/2.8-5.6 an ultra-zoom lens, with up to super-telephoto 500 mm.

“For the accurate and precise acquisition of photography subjects, the Nikon DL series is the first range of compact cameras in the industry to feature an advanced hybrid AF system, combining both phase-detection AF and contrast-detect AF,” Nikon states.

“The focus areas are densely packed to ensure wide AF area coverage for reliable performance in unpredictable shooting environments, keeping up with the DL range’s high autofocusing speed of approximately 0.09s. This works in tandem with an outstanding continuous shooting speed of 20 frames per second.”

The DL series also provides for the capture of 4K (3840 x 2160/30p) video.

DL18-50mm f/1.8-2.8 features:
