Apple’s new 7.9 inch iPad Mini announced this week has Amazon irked, and the cheeky e-tailer compiled a list of why Kindle Fire is better than Apple’s mini , in a statement today, as it revealed its q3 results, which by the way showed a loss of $264m (ouch)
The little iPad will go head-to-head with Amazon’s budget Kindle Fire (not available in Oz) and Google’s Nexus 7 in the fiercely competitive tablet market.
It’s crystal clear Apple spec’d the Mini out pretty damn well – dual core A5 processor, 4G internet, the same pixel resolution of the larger iPad 2 at 1024 x 768, rear 5 megapixel camera and a front facing 1.2MP camera capable of HD FaceTime calls.

According to Amazon, compared to the iPad mini, its Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ has:
193% more pixels (2,304,000 pixels vs. 786,432 pixels)
56% more pixels-per-inch (254 vs. 163)
Watch HD movies and TV – cannot on iPad mini (iPad mini is an SD device)
Better audio with dual stereo speakers and Dolby Digital Plus
Wi-Fi with dual band, dual antennas + MIMO
Costs $30 less
Compared to the iPad mini, Kindle Fire HD 7″ has:
30% more pixels (1,024,000 vs. 786,432 pixels)
33% more pixels per inch (216 vs. 163) o Watch HD movies and TV – cannot on iPad mini (iPad mini is an SD device)
Better audio with dual stereo speakers and Dolby Digital Plus o Wi-Fi with dual band, dual antennas + MIMO
Costs $130 less
