After being caught red handed trying to con journalists last week, Nokia now claims they have enlisted the services of an ethics officer to investigate how a “faked” promotional video came to be used at a global press event for their new Lumia 920 handset.The Nokia drama unfolded after an eagle eyed observer spotted a professional cameraman reflected in one of the images of the video that was supposed to show off the capabilities of the built-in 8.7-megapixel PureView stills camera and video camera, fitted with advanced image stabilising capabilities.

Not content to fake the video, Nokia also faked the still image shots that were handed out to journalists.
The revelation has caused huge embarrassment and further damaged the already struggling Finnish brand, who is fighting the odds to re-establish itself as a global phone brand after being dumped by consumers.
Business Week claims that Nokia has called in an ethics and compliance officer who will seek to “understand what happened,” and the company will deal with the issue “quickly, fairly and privately.”
Nokia spokeswoman Susan Sheehan said: “What we understand to date is that it was nobody’s intention to mislead, but there was poor judgment in the decision not to use a disclaimer.”
With falling device sales, massive job cuts and a share price in free fall, this controversy was really the last thing Nokia needed, claim analysts, who believe the Finnish brand has little chance of success up against Apple, Samsung, Motorola and HTC.
