Nokia’s N9 Scores Update, But Is It Too Little Too Late?

The v1.2 update makes use of the N9’s front facing camera by delivering video calling capabilities. It also allows users to create folders in the app launcher so they can organise the anrachic interface. Other enhancements have been made to the camera, the gallery and the inclusion of a copy/paste functionality that uses brackets so it’s easy to highlight text.

Its great Nokia has continued to support the N9 with updates, but the reality is for six months Nokia’s N9 suffered without some of these fundamental features. These ‘updates’ aren’t really innovating, rather they’re an outdated effort to catch up with rivalling operating systems.

The update is heavy at 284MB and Nokia say it can take up to 40 minutes. According to GSMArena, installation can take place straight from the phone by simply checking for updates.

It’s also worth noting that some carrier phones won’t be able to benefit from the update until their carrier approve it.
