GM of sales quits LG

SYDNEY – Michael Doyle the GM of sales at LG Australia has quit. Talking to Channel News, Doyle said “I am going nowhere – I just quit”.

Insiders claim that Doyle, who had close ties with both Harvey Norman and Bing Lee, will be “hard to replace”.

During the period of transition, LG Australia MD Youngik Lee is taking on Doyle’s previous role.

It was only six months ago that LG looked at restructuring its sales operations with a former industry sales director, approached to work alongside Doyle in the restructuring of the sales operation. But he declined an invitation to join the company.

In a statement, LG management said “Over his many years with LG, Michael has contributed significantly to the company’s success and will leave behind a strong legacy. While his leaving may be regrettable, LG Australia would like to wish Michael every success in his future endeavours”. – David Richards, Channel News
