Ouch! US Samsung Galaxy Tab $388 Cheaper Than OZ

Pricing for the new Samsung 7-inch Galaxy Tab has been set at US$599 in the US making it $388 cheaper than what the same device is being sold for in Australia. Next week Telstra is set to launch a 10-inch Android based tablet that will sell for under $300.

Pricing for the new Samsung 7″Galaxy Tab has been set at US$599 in the US making it $388 cheaper than what the same device is being sold for in Australia. Next week Telstra is set to launch a 10″ Android based tablet that will sell for under $300.
Criticised yesterday by Apple boss Steve Jobs the 7 inch tablet category is set to become  controversial following claims that a 7 inch screen wasn’t big enough for a great app experience, and that a tablet that size needed to come with “sandpaper” so users can sand their fingers down to a quarter of their size.”
We believe the opposite. The Galaxy Tab features a 7-inch touch screen and will run on Google’s Android 2.2 “Froyo” operating system.
It fits into a pocket and has a stunning display screen which we believe is better that the “retina display” screen present on the Apple iPod Touch and the iPhone 4.
It allows consumers to access and see Flash files which is a big plus if you want to access the millions of retail stores that today use Flash to demonstrate their wares.
The only problem in Australia, and one that could hurt sales is the $999 price tag. For Australians travelling to the USA there is a bargain waiting to be had.
