Pandora has launched Browse, a new feature designed to help users discover music, and has unveiled an upgraded look and feel.Browse delivers recommendations based on a user’s thumbs and individual musical tastes, with Pandora stating it serves up artists and stations that are only relevant to the user.
The experience continually improves the more the user listens to Pandora.
Browse will also contain fresh station recommendations based on the user’s listening activity, while users can see what’s playing on a station before adding it to their station list. Music metrics, meanwhile, allows users to see how many fans have added a station.
“The new Browse feature makes it easy to find the music you love whether you know what you want, or need a little help discovering music you didn’t know existed,” Chris Phillips, Pandora chief product officer, commented of the new feature.
As part of Pandora’s new look and feel, users will now have one-tap access to whatever is playing with a new Mini-Player on the bottom of the app.
Other changes see Stations, Feed, Profile and Settings placed in a new fly-out menu in the top left corner, with users also now able to organise their My Station list by recent or alphabetical order, while Pandora has redesigned the artist pages with a fresh format.
Browse is available for iPhones in the US, Australia and New Zealand, with Pandora stating that it will launch on Android phones soon.
