Seven has announced that its show, Border Security, was yesterday’s number 1 most-watched programme for total viewers and 25-54s, ‘annihilating’ Nine’s Power of 10 and Ten’s So You Think You Can Dance.
According to Seven’s press release, Border Security and SCU: Serious Crash Unit outpaced So You Think You Can Dance by 39% in total viewers and combine to belt Power of 10 (0.704 million): up 131% in total viewers, up 59% in 16-39s, up 92% in 18-49s and up 117% in 25-54s. The company has also said that So You Think You Can Dance has lost 200,000 viewers (15 percent) on its previous first-run Monday episode.
Desperate Housewives also wiped out the first episode in the new series of Sea Patrol – with the housewives sinking Nine’s series in all key audiences. Sea Patrol II’s first episode is down 38% in total viewers, down 47% in 16-39s, down 43% in 18-49s and down 44% in 25-54s on the first episode of Sea Patrol in 2007, says Seven.
Seven wins primetime in total viewers and 25-54s. Seven News is up 385,000 viewers on Nine News across Australia (including an eye-opening 129,000 viewer advantage in Sydney). Today Tonight is also up 238,000 viewers on A Current Affair (including a 103,000 viewer advantage in Sydney).
