Pay Your Rego, Parking Fines Via Android Pay: NSW Move

The NSW Government says its Services NSW customer shopfronts springing up across suburban and country shopping centres can now accept smartphone payments from customers equipped with the latest Android mobiles. It’s hoping to add the
Apple Pay system, if holdout banks Westpac, CBA and NAB join the ANZ in
offering the Apple mobile phone system. It also plans to accept PayPal and Visa
payments for services including licence renewals, parking fines, car rego and
birth certificates.

The Android Pay system is currently only available to people physically
attending a Service NSW office, but the agency is said to be in the process of
expanding it to the Services NSW online portal and app.

The payments system was built by Sydney outfit Azuron. It will eventually be
made available to all NSW government agencies, reducing multiple payment
systems and streamlining bureaucratic red tape, says Dominic Perrottet, NSW
Minister for Finance, Service and Property.
