Pebble Blue Samsung Galaxy III Facing Manufacturing Problems Delays Tipped

The launch of the ‘Pebble Blue’ Samsung Galaxy S III may be facing a problem after Samsung hit a manufacturing hurdle. The device which is set to be revealed in Australia on Thursday is in short supply. Telstra sources are not saying whether they have enough stock to launch their blue model in Australia.

According to sources, Samsung is having a problem with the polycarbonate back; however, it is not known what the problem is. Some sources have speculated that the material is cracking when pushed into place on the back of the new smartphone. The main competitor to the Galaxy s III is the HTC One X which has no back with the phone housed in a solid casing.

XDA Developers is reporting this morning that Samsung has disposed of approximately 600,000 rear casings for the phone and is retooling the production process.

SmartHouse understands that Samsung Australia has already shipped blue models to carriers. Late last week we were shown a Blue model and it appeared to not have any problems.

Back in 2010 Apple had problems with their iPhone when a white version  was delayed for almost 10 months due to production problems in getting a white case that was up to Apple’s standards.
