Pioneer & Onkyo Corporation has released three new AV amplifiers, the SC-LX89, SC-LX79 and SC-LX59, in Australia.The three models support the latest DTS:X object-based audio and Dolby Atmos sound, producing “the ideal surround-sound environment that lines up and simultaneously drives the playback conditions of all speakers based on Multi-Channel Stereophonic Philosophy”, achieving stereophonics between all adjacent speakers.
Direct Energy HD amplifiers enable high-power output on all channels simultaneously and, with MCACC Pro (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System, Pioneer’s proprietary acoustic compensation technology) correcting temporal reverb characteristics and the phase characteristics of the speaker system, produce “an ideal object-based audio playback environment”, reproducing audio works in their originally intended form.
Pioneer states Direct Energy HD amplifiers “boast deeper and more powerful sound with the ability to produce high-power output across all channels simultaneously”, (SC-LX89: 9 channels, 850 W; SC-LX79: 9 channels, 810 W; SC-LX59: 9 channels, 760 W).

The speakers support 4K/60p/4:4:4/24-bit video signals, the latest HDR signals, and HDCP 2.2 copyright protection standard.
They support high-resolution sound source (192 kHz/24-bit) in FLAC, WAV, AIFF and Apple lossless file formats, direct playback of multi-channel content WAV (192 kHz/24-bit for USB input), FLAC (96 kHz/24-bit) and DSD (5.6 MHz) files.
A Wi-Fi connection supports dual band 5 GHz (11a/n) and 2.4 GHz (11b/g/n), with Wireless Direct supported, allowing control in the iControlAV5 app and the wireless playback of music from smartphones and tablets, even when a wireless LAN environment is not available. Bluetooth connectivity is also available.
