Playstation 4 And Wii Set For 2011 Stoush

It seems like a full-on brawl will erupt in 2011 between Sony Home Entertainment and Nintendo, with the former releasing the PS4, while the latter is set to introduce an HD version of the Wii, according to a report in PC Watch.

Latest rumours say the PS4 console will be based on a revamped cell processor, pumping out twice the number-crunching power as the current version –  good news for gamers, but not so the environment, with most console manufacturers trying to make their products as energy-efficient as possible.

There are also hints that the next-generation of PlayStation will use solid-state hardware to load games, or download titles direct from the Internet, just like the HD Wii.
