Presto Brings Free Movies To KFC Burger Box

Foxtel’s Presto has joined forces with KFC in time for the school holidays to offer a month of complimentary Presto movies with the purchase of KFC’s Family Burger Box until the 29th of September 2014.

Presto is seeking to take advantage of the pressures of the school holiday period by doing a deal with KFC that’s sure to amp up the kids’ pester power.

All you need to do is to buy a KFC Family Burger Box between September 16 and 29 and you’ll get a Presto Gift Card which entitles the redeemer to 1 x free month of Presto subscription titles, although its “rental pay-per-view” titles will cost extra.

The Company naturally bills this as a “great way for people to relax and spend time together with the best in streamed movie entertainment combined with a great meal”, while the two week period (or while stocks last) gives “KFC customers plenty of time to take advantage of Presto’s streaming movie service for a month.”

The service costs $9.99 per month with no lock-in contracts and is an “all-you-can-eat” service, except for the table with the pay-per-view titles your $9.99 per month doesn’t entitle you to.

For the time being, like Foxtel in its earliest days, Presto is ad-break free, although no-one knows how long it will be before Foxtel succumbs to the pressure of additional revenue from advertising and devalues its service with pesky ads.

In the spirit of school holidays, Presto says it is featuring three special collections with great movies to suit the whole family, with movies including an ‘Animation Fixation for Kids’ with Despicable Me 2, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, Wreck-It-Ralph and Rise of the Guardians; ‘Feel-Good Films to Bring a Smile to Your Dial’ featuring Happy Feet, Toy Story, Muriel’s Wedding and The Big Lebowski; and ‘Fairy-Tales Brought to Life’ showing Peter Pan, Tangled Ever After, Tideland, Aladdin and Jack the Giant Slayer, among dozens of others.

Presto promises its interface is intuitive and easy to use and can be enjoyed on TV via Google’s Chromecast, selected Android tablets, iOS tablets and PC/Mac computers.

Presto reminds us all its offers movies from all the major studios and key independents including MGM, NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures, Roadshow Films, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Entertainment One Films Australia, ICON, Studiocanal and Transmission Films.
