In a press briefing held at the British Consulate, Imagination Technologies’ CEO, Hossein Yassaie said, “Broadcast by far has been and will always remain the most practical and efficient way to reach a wide audience. We have integrated broadcast with new technologies for internet connectivity and content delivery, under a state-of-the-art user interface, which will create a channel for consumers to communicate across social media and with the broadcasters, without any need for PCs.”

The Sensia is a DAB+, FM, and Internet radio that comes with a 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen. It comes pre-installed with various widgets such as Twitter, Weather, Picasa, and Facebook, with the unit being able to display customised apps such as racing details from Sky Racing. The Sensia is also a media streamer enabling users to listen to music stored on a home computer or network storage device via Wi-Fi.

In addition to the Sensia, Pure has also added five new products to its digital radio line-up. The One Mini is a DAB+ and FM portable radio that claims to provide up to 20 hours of portable listening when fitted with the optional rechargeable ChargePak. It comes with an auxiliary input, headphone jack, and textSCAN which lets listeners pause and control scrolling text. It will be available this month for $129 and comes in black, white, or baby pink.

The Pure Verona sports a classic look and uses class D amplifiers, digital radio shaping technology, and custom-tuned speakers that claim to provide clear and controlled dynamic audio. It also includes an MP3 input, ReVu function that can pause and rewind live DAB radio, textScan, light sensor, and OLED display. It will be available this month in wood walnut veneer or piano black gloss lacquer casing for $599.

Pure will also be rolling out the first DAB+ micro system that is fully compatible with the Apple iPhone. According to the company, the Sirocco 150 has been designed to connect to iPod and iPhone and has been certified to meet Apple performance standards. It can play MP3/WMA files stored on USB drives, SD cards, or CDs, and has a sleep timer and alarm function. The Sirocco 150 will be available for $499.

Finally, the company has also unveiled the world’s first internet-connected bedside radio, the Siesta Flow. At $269, the Siesta Flow comes with internet radio, DAB+, FM, a Pure Powerport which charges any USB accessory, touch sensitive controls, as well as an input for MP3 players.

Pure Australasia’s Managing Director, Graeme Redman said, “There are more products in the pipeline, so you’ll be hearing more from Pure in the next coming months.”
