When it comes to gaming-focused tech, companies often end up playing with some truly wild ideas in the hunt for the next big thing.
The two experimental products Razer brought to this year’s CES in Las Vegas are a perfect example of that.
First up, Razer’s Project Arian 4K projector.
Designed for use with games, the 4K projector has been built less with straightforward projection in mind and more with the goal of working in tandem with a monitor to ‘extend’ your field of vision.

Running on the Chroma software that powers the ambient lighting in Razer’s other products and featuring two depth-sensing cameras, Razer says the Ariana is able to detect objects that might distort the image and project around them.
It’s very impressive stuff, even if it’s unlikely to end up consumer grade.
Same goes for the company’s Project Valeria, a new laptop featuring three 17.3-inch 4K monitors.

Built atop the previous Razer-Blade Pro, the additional monitors slide out of the middle screen and fold away when not in use.
“The complexities of a traditional multi-monitor setup are a thing of the past with Project Valerie,” Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said in a prepared statement, though the company refused to confirm whether or not the product would ever make it to market.
“Equally important, the power of a desktop computer and graphics capabilities of three top-end monitors are included in the system. There is no shortcoming in the way of performance in the face of its amazing portability and features,” he said.
