Remote-Control IP Security Camera

Netcomm’s new MyLANCam IP video camera (NS380W) features a pan/tilt function and allows users to control and change the camera’s view point remotely.

The camera has a built-in Web server which allows it to capture live video images and then make these available over a wireless LAN or Internet for remote monitoring. With a focal range of approximately 20 metres, the IP camera is able to pan from a claimed -170 degrees to +170 degrees and tilt from -90 degrees to +45 degrees. Users can program the camera to perform regular sweeping patterns and pan or tilt to various angles.

“With the growing popularity of broadband for home and small businesses, digital surveillance over the Internet is now a real possibility for everyone. The NS380W delivers an affordable security solution that can be monitored from anywhere in the world, with the versatility of pan and tilt functions so that a single camera can cover a much wider area,” said Netcomm’s David Stewart.

Netcomm said the NS380W (like the other MyLANCam models) come with a software utility allowing users to manage up to 16 cameras on the one network at any one time. This feature also provides users with control of the viewing angle of the camera. And for extra security, a configurable motion detection facility is included, which can be set up to capture still images for archiving, or if the camera is triggered, users can be emailed an alert directly.
