Just in time to spearhead the CGI reimagining of Tin Tin in cinemas, the intrepid reporter is reanimated in all his nostalgic glory, remastered in Blu-ray form.
All 21 stories across 39 episodes of Tin Tin’s wayward adventures thrown onto five Blu-ray discs complete with enhanced sound and visuals to suit your HD TV. Madman released a DVD box set a couple of years back but have now introduced the remastered edition at a lower cost.

And it comes just in time to prep long-standing fans of Tin Tin and his loyal companion, Snowy, (fans spanning nearly a century from the early days of the comic book to the more recent TV series) and to create new fans in time for the Spielberg/Jackson film adaptation.
Don’t hold your breath for any special glimpses behind the magic though – it’s just straight Tin Tin plus some upped resolution and sound. The animation hasn’t been prodded at, retouched or tweaked, so don’t expect it to look as pretty as you may have remembered it back in the early ’90s. Though the added resolution makes it all HD TV friendly, and the Dolby Digital sound will complement your sound system.

The series goes ahead to faithfully reproduce the comic books into the moving form, albeit with a penchant for exaggerated voice overs and some serious pacing issues. Nonetheless, if you’re a fan from childhood, it can be overlooked to get another glimpse of the often ludicrously hackneyed favourites like the Thomson Twins.
While you may have enjoyed standard resolution Tin Tin on your old CRT TV as a young’un, you can now pass the magic down to your own kids in full HD.
